WORD PROCESSING

One of the fastest growing computer applications is WORD PROCESSING. A word processor is used for the typing, editing, storage, retrieval and printing of text. As text is typed, it appears on the screen. A CURSOR indicates the position of the next character to be typed. EDITING is done by moving the cursor to the position just past the correction, erasing the error and typing the correction. Using a word processor instead of a typewriter, it does not matter if the operator makes mistakes or needs to put in extra lines.

When complete the document can be PRINTED on paper. It can also be stored magnetically on a FLOPPY DISK so that it can later be retrieved for further editing and printing.
