River Thames Locks
August 2014 onwards
One day a week during the summer months I get on my bike and cycle down to Radcot Lock,
or other near-by locks on the River
Thames. There I help the lock keeper with opening and closing
the lock gates when boats want to pass through and various other
jobs around the lock site. The winter months are
spent helping to tidy up the lock site and routine maintenance like
painting the bollards, usually as part of a work party consisting of
other volunteers.
